Happy New Year everyone!

Meh, I never really understood why we have new years in the middle of winter. In celtic traditions, new years was in October or when fall started. And other pagan religions believed that the new year started in April with the start of spring (April Fools Day, actually...). Oh well. Can't wait for Chinese New Year, though >3 (Year of the Rat...horses beware!).

Still, despite my non-enthusiastic thoughts on new years, I feel as though I'm starting this year fresh (and cold o.o; 38 degrees in Florida with a 29 degree wind chill is not a good thing..). I've had nice, long three-week break to relax and now I'm eager to start classes again...even if one of them is General Chemistry II (yuck XP). I've also got fresh new ideas for my fanfiction as well as other fanfiction ideas I have, namely another Star Fox story of mine that I'm thinking of starting, a Teen Titans fanfiction that would center somewhat on Terra (let's face it..she got a crappy ending in the Teen Titans finale >:l), and I'm thinking of revisting an old concept I had in mind which involved kitsunes ^-^

Speaking of fanfiction, I'm just about ready to update my first Star Fox fanfic! It has been on an unnannounced hiatus and has been collecting dust for a while, but now I'll finally post Chapter 2 by sometime tomorrow. If you're interested in reading it the first chapter of it, go to fanfiction.net and look up either my penname (NozomiShiro) or my fanfic name Under the Desert Sun. And for those of you that have been poking at me to update it, be patient a little bit longer :3 I'm not sure if I'll post the fan fiction here on DA, but I might end up doing something like a preview or chapter summary for it.

In other news, since I'll be starting school again next week, I'll be taking an on and off hiatus throughout the spring semester. I'll still be on to check updates and browse around for cool looking art, but I most likely won't post more chapters of my fanfic or any artwork, simply because I'll be focusing on my classes and band. So don't be surprised if you don't hear from me for a while nor see any updated stuff- I'll likely be killing my brain trying to understand Chemistry o.O; Or blowing my lips out on the oboe and English Horn...

Soo, with that said, I hope that all of you are managing to stay warm and hope that this year turns out to be a good one!

UPDATE: I know I said I'd have Chapter 2 of my fan fiction up, but my PC decided to break and I didn't get a chance to send in my finished chapter to fanfiction.net or transfer my fan fiction to my laptop. Soooo, Chapter 2 won't be up for a while My sincerest apologies! *bows down in apology* The good news is that I've started Chapter 3, so at least I won't fall behind. Whenever I get back home, I'll update my fan fiction with two chapters hopefully (I go back home briefly at the end of January-beginning of Feburary). Once again, I am sorry for making some of you wait longer for my story!
